The Festive Christmas Book Tag | 2020

Hello, book lovers! 💕

I felt like, since it’s currently snowing where I live, that I should do a Christmas book tag. I thought this one would be perfect, and it definitely put me in the Christmas mood. Though, if I’m being honest, I’ve been in the Christmas mood way before Thanksgiving.

Like most tags I do, I wasn’t tagged by anyone. I originally found this tag on Nadia’s blog, The Journeying Bibliophile, so go check her out! She posts amazing book related posts, and she’s currently doing Blogmas which seems like such a fun idea!

The tag was originally created by ReadingGirl on YouTube, and you can check out her video here.

Without any further ado, let’s get onto the tag!

1) A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

Hands down, the Weasley’s from Harry Potter. I feel like that’s kind of a generic answer at this point considering how well-loved Harry Potter is in the book community. But it’s true; I’d love to get one of those sweaters that Mollie Weasley makes her children every year. I’d love to be surrounded by so many loving people. Plus there’d be magic, and who wouldn’t want that around Christmas time?

2) A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

I asked for a new Kindle for Christmas this year, so I’d love to receive that as a gift. Either that or a bookmark because you can never have too many of those.

3) A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

I’m going to have to go with Lola Nolan from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins mainly because she’s a costume designer and would probably make an amazing Christmas elf costume.

4) Match a book to its perfect Christmas song.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune would be perfect with Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Not only because I would want to be in that universe forever, but also because of some of the events that go on in the story itself, mainly the romance and the children who live on the island (I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read it).

5) Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

I was really disappointed in Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon when I read it earlier this year. I was just really underwhelmed when I finished reading it, and I honestly don’t remember anything that happened in the book.

6) A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

That would definitely be Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that this is one of my all-time favorite books. I have a book review on it and an Author Appreciation post where I pretty much gush about the author and her books.

7) Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully christmasy feel to it.

I would have to say In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. I mean, look at it. Not only is it green, but it also has Christmas lights and ornaments all over it. It also has snowflakes. If that doesn’t scream Christmas and winter, I don’t know what does.

8) A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab, which I’m pretty sure has a lot of love already, but it’s one of my favorite books that I read this year and I think that everyone should read it.

I tag:

[ Book Coffee Happy | dinipandareads | The Geekish Brunette | Beyond the Read | Fiction Fixer | A Court of Coffee and Books ]

Don’t feel pressured to do this tag if it’s not your thing. Also, if I didn’t tag you, and you want to do the tag, feel free! I’d love to read your answers!

So there you have it. The Festive Christmas Book Tag. This definitely got me in the Christmas mood and was such a fun post to write. Are you in the Christmas/winter mood? Are you ready to get all cozy under a blanket and a good book? I’d love to chat in the comments below!

  1. Thank you so much for the tag!! As a matter of fact, we had our first snowfall where we live today, so this post was perfect timing 🤩 I really need to get around to both Eliza and Addie LaRue — I’ve heard the best things about both books! Thank you for another great post ❤️
