Hello, book lovers! 💕
I know I say this at the end of every month, but where did this month go? Is it just me or is this year flying by? I can’t believe that next month (or really, tomorrow) is December! And that Christmas is in a little over three weeks. As well as my birthday.
Anyway, this month wasn’t that great of a reading month for me. Especially when comparing it to October, which was a really good reading month for me. I read four books this month, and I’m in the middle of a fifth. But two of those books were comics and one of them I listened to on audiobook. They were all four stars for me though, so that’s always a plus.
Without further ado, let’s get onto the books that I read this month!
The first book that I finished this month was A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn. I started this book at the beginning of the month, and it took me almost two weeks to finish. But I’m proud of myself because I read it on my Kindle, which I haven’t done in a while. I forgot how much I like reading on it, especially because I can read in the dark!
But I liked this book a lot more than I was expecting to considering it’s a historical fiction book. It has mystery and thriller elements as well, so that’s what kept me interested and on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I recently did a review of it if you’re interested in knowing more of my thoughts on it.
The next books were comics that I picked up, and I’m sure if you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you probably know which comic series I’ve been reading. And that is The Avatar: The Last Airbender comics. I recently finished the next two volumes, which were part 2 and 3 of Smoke and Shadow. I might not actually be able to finish this series by the end of the year considering I still have around 6 more volumes left. Though, they’re pretty short so I should be able to get through them pretty quickly if I decide to binge them one day in December.
The last book that I finished this month the audiobook for The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s the second book in the Raven Cycle, which is a series that I’m slowly understanding the hype around. It took me a while to finally pick up this book after finishing The Raven Boys, but I’m so glad that I did. The world that Maggie Stiefvater created in this book is so rich and interesting, not to mention the characters are ones that I’ve honestly grown so attached to. I definitely plan on continuing the series next year.
I book that I’m in the middle of, I mentioned in my WWW Wednesday post last week. And that book is Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it by the end of today, and that’s okay. I really want to take my time with that book because it’s one that I’ve been anticipating for months now. And from what I’ve read so far (I’m about 100 pages into it now), I’m really enjoying it.
Then again, I’ve loved all of Jenn Bennett’s books that she has written. So it’s no surprise that I’m enjoying this one too.
But there you have it. Those are the books that I read in November. What were some books you read this month? Have you read any of these? I’d love to chat in the comments below!
