Fall Time, Cozy Time | Book Tag

Hello, book lovers! 💕

I originally found this tag over on Elaine Howlin’s blog, so do be sure to check out her answers as well! She writes some amazing bookish posts.

So I’ve been in the cozy, fall mood as I think everyone has been. But it’s even more so since I went hiking this week and saw all of the different colored leaves and fall foliage. It was so beautiful to look at, and it reminded me why I love this season so much.

But without further ado, let’s get onto the questions!

1. CRUNCHING LEAVES: The world is full of color! Choose a book with red/orange/yellow on the cover.

There are so many book covers that remind me of fall and fall colors. These are just a few that I have on my shelves. I’m kind of surprised that I was able to find so many since a majority of the book covers are black or some shade of blue.

2. COZY SWEATER: It’s finally cool enough for warm cozy clothing! What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

As I’m writing this, I’m experiencing an Indian summer where I’m from, so it’s not as cool as I’d like it to be in order to get all cozy in blankets and such. The weather needs to make up its mind because it was the perfect weather last week.

But the first book that comes to mind for this question is The House in the Cerulean Sea by T..J. Klune. This book was just so heartwarming and beautiful. I couldn’t recommend it enough honestly.

3. FALL STORM: The wind is howling & the rain is pounding. Choose a book that you like to read on a stormy day.

There isn’t a specific book I read on a rainy day, but one that’d give me those stormy day vibes would have to be The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James or any other type of mystery. Any book that is undeniably readable – something that is kind of creepy but also addicting. And atmospheric. Which I think this book is just that.

4. COOL CRISP AIR: makes you breathe freely~ Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

I think that’d have to be Gansey from The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. There’s just something mysterious and interesting about him. He’s such a complex character that I wanted to know more about when I was reading the first book in the series. I haven’t gotten any further with the books, but I definitely plan on it soon.

5. HOT APPLE CIDER: warm autumn drink. What underhyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

Weirdly enough, I don’t read a lot of books that are under hyped. And honestly, I don’t know what would constitute a book to be under hyped other than that I don’t see it being talked about a lot, whether that’s on Goodreads, YouTube, or Instagram.

The one book that I can think of is Call It What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer. I know A Curse So Dark and Lonely, which is the first book in her Cursebreakers series, has a lot of hype around it. I haven’t read that one, but I know it has really good reviews on Goodreads.

6. COAT, SCARVES, & MITTENS: the weather has turned cold & it’s time to cover up! What’s a book cover you don’t like?

There aren’t many book covers that I don’t like because I honestly think that I buy books based on their covers (who doesn’t?). But if I had to choose a cover type that I don’t like, it’d be a couple sitting or standing together but only showing the neck down. This is something that is done a lot with Kasie West’s books. And I know it’s something that’s done a lot for romance books, especially YA romance. But I think it’s overdone.

7. PUMPKIN SPICE: time for some Starbucks! What’s your favorite fall comfort food?

I’ve been making a lot of apple crisp lately, and that’s really good. But I think if I had to choose an all-time favorite, it’d probably be pumpkin pie. I know a lot of people prefer apple pie, but I prefer pumpkin. It’s so creamy and I love all the spices. It’s like fall packed into a slice of heaven.

8. WARM, COZY BONFIRE: spread the cozy warmth! Who do you tag?
