Hello, book lovers! 💕
I decided to do another one of these posts. They’re a lot of fun because I can talk about books that have been on my TBR for a while and haven’t thought about in so long. And honestly, it helps me figure out if I want to keep a book on my TBR or not. There are some books that have been on my TBR for so long that I don’t have any interest in reading them.
Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme that was started by Lauren’s Page Turners. The meme is pretty easy to follow, to participate simply choose a random book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it! I originally saw this post on A Little Haze Book Blog, who is amazing and you should definitely check their blog out.
In choosing the book from my TBR, I used a random number generator in order to see which book I was going to talk about.
So the book that I chose was Break Your Glass Slippers by Amanda Lovelace. The following is from Goodreads:
amanda lovelace, the bestselling & award-winning author of the “women are some kind of magic” poetry series, presents a new companion series, “you are your own fairy tale” the first installment, break your glass slippers, is about overcoming those who don’t see your worth, even if that person is sometimes yourself. in the epic tale of your life, you are the most important character while everyone is but a forgotten footnote. even the prince.
This is one that I completely forgot that I had on my TBR. It’s a poetry collection from an author whom I really love. I read most of her other collections and really enjoyed them. I have been meaning to buy her recent collections, including this one, but haven’t gotten around to it. I actually put this on my TBR back in February of this year, but I forgot that I did. And I don’t know how I forgot about it since I don’t have that many books on my Goodreads TBR, and I didn’t add it that long ago.
It came out earlier this year, and I honestly need to read it ASAP. All of her poems are inspiring and empowering. And each collection is a pretty quick read. And now it’s one that I want to read like right now. Maybe I’ll add it to my September TBR, even though I had it planned out already. What’s one more short book?
But there you have it. There’s a random book from my TBR and why I want to read it. Have you read this book or any other of Amanda Lovelace’s poetry collections? I’d love to discuss it in the comments below!
