Hello, book lovers! 💕

I’ve actually read quite a bit this month so far, and it’s been so long since I’ve done one. So I feel like I’m actually able to do one of these posts. I first saw this on Book Coffee Happy‘s blog. Again, thanks so much to Sam from Taking on a World of Words for hosting!

The 3 W’s are:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading (or rereading actually for like the third time) Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. This is the first time in a while that I’ve actually physically read a book and not just listened to the audiobook. Though, I don’t think this one would translate quite as well as an audiobook because there are drawings and online forum chats throughout that you can only experience truly if you read the physical book.

But like I said, I’m reading this for the third time. It’s been a while since the last time I’ve read it, and I forgotten how much I love the characters. They’re just so nerdy and I’m absolutely living for it.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished listening to The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. This was another one that I read like three times already. Every time before this, it has taken me over a week to read this book. But listening to the audiobook, I think it took me maybe three days. Which is pretty good considering this is over 500 pages.

I love Morgan Matson’s books. They’re always so fun, but also tackle some tough topics. They’re almost always centered around family, which is great to read in a book. This one has a great friendship dynamics. And there’s puppies. What more could you ask for?

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m really not sure what I’m going to pick up when I finish Eliza and her Monsters. I keep saying that I want to reread The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. I also kind of want to reread When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon even though that wasn’t on my TBR for this month. I just got The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett in the mail, and I also have had One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London on my radar for a while now.

So there you have it. Those are the books that I am currently reading, have recently read, and plan on reading soon. What books are you currently reading or have recently read? I’d love to know in the comments below!

    1. I’ve actually already read The Poet X, so it’d be a reread for me. I loved it the first time I read it so I’m sure I’ll love it this time too! And I agree. I love Elizabeth Acevedo’s writing as well! The fact that she can create a story that’s so vivid and heart wrenching solely through poetry is amazing.
