Hello, book lovers! 💕
I’m going to be honest and say that I didn’t know what I was going to post today, but I knew that I wanted to post something. So this might be kind of a short post. And my thoughts might be kind of scattered everywhere.
I was planning on doing a review, but I haven’t finished a book yet even though I’m in the middle of two as of now. I couldn’t do a WWW Wednesday post because it would basically be the same as last week’s. So I decided I would just discuss the books that I’m in the middle of since I recently started one this week.
Last week I started Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo. And I don’t know if it’s just that I want to take it slow with the book, but it’s taking me a while to get through. Not because it’s a bad book. Honestly, if I sat down and just read for a day, I’m sure I could fly through it. It’s written in verse and pretty easy to read, even though the subject matter is kind of heavy. That might be a reason I haven’t picked it up this week. It’s a heavy book, and maybe I’m not really in the mood for that type of book. But I’m enjoying it so far from what I’ve read of it. I’m really hoping to finish it this week so I can read Elizabeth Acevedo’s other books. And when I do finish it, I definitely plan on doing a book review of it.
The other book that I’m in the middle of I wasn’t planning on reading right away. But one night, I decided I wanted to listen to an audiobook. I usually like to listen to an audiobook while I draw, and I felt like drawing. But I didn’t have an audiobook that I wanted to listen to. So while searching through the Audible app, I decided to pick up Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I had read the first book Six of Crows last month and really enjoyed it.
I started listening to it, and now every time I draw or play on my Switch, I listen to it. It’s a chunky length for an audiobook (18 hours long), so it’s probably going to take me a while to get through. But I’m enjoying it. I feel like I’m being super productive because I’m not only just reading or just drawing but doing a couple things at once. That’s what I love about audiobooks. I know they’re not for everyone, but I love the fact that I can multitask.
So those are the books I’m currently reading. I’ve mentioned in a few blog posts at this point that I don’t typically like reading more than one book at a time because I get too focused on one then forget about the other (which is kind of what is happening this week with Clap When You Land). But hopefully I’ll be able to get through both of them this week.
What are some books that you’re currently reading? I’d love to know in the comments below!
