Hello, book lovers! 💕
I first saw this on Book Coffee Happy‘s blog. I really like doing these posts every once in a while because they keeps me accountable for the books that I’m reading and the books that I want to read next. Again, thanks so much to Sam from Taking on a World of Words for hosting!
The 3 W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently in the middle of reading The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon. I mentioned in my Diverse Books I Wanted to Read that I had started it, and since then, I have gotten so much farther in it. I know that it’s going to be one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. I love how strong and independent the main character is. It’s so encouraging and inspiring to read about a character who accomplished so much as a young Black woman. If you haven’t guessed, I’m really enjoying it so far, and I’m planning on finishing it in the next couple days. I’ll definitely have a review of it up soon on here.
What did you recently finish reading?
The last couple of books I finished weren’t necessarily books, but more like manga or graphic novels. They are really short reads, so I was able to get through them really fast. The first one was One Piece volume 25. I’ve been meaning to continue on in the series for a while now, and I’m really glad that I got to it this month.
The other book I recently read was a graphic novel that was only 80 pages. That was Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise, Part 1. I recently finished watching the TV show on Netflix with my boyfriend, and I really wanted to know what happened after the show ended. I found the graphic novels on an app through my local library, so I figured I should pick them up. And being that they’re so short, I should have no problem getting through them.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Honestly, I never really know what I’m going to read next after I finish a book. I already have the next part of Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise checked out from my local library, but I’m also thinking about picking up either The Moment of Truth by Kasie West or Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I have both on my Kindle, but I’m just not sure what I’ll be in the mood for. Knowing it’ll be a quick read, I’ll probably pick up Avatar. After that, however, is pretty up in the air for now.
So those are the books that I am currently reading, I have recently read, and I plan on reading soon. What are some books that you’ve recently read? Or are currently reading? I’d love to know in the comments below!
